GCI waives fees for calls, texts to Mexico in response to deadly earthquake

Calls and texts to the area can be placed for free though Sept. 25

 

ANCHORAGE, AlaskaIn response to the devastating earthquake in Mexico, GCI will waive all fees associated with voice calls and texts to the area through Sept. 25.

 “Our thoughts are with the victims of the recent deadly earthquake in Mexico,” said Paul Landes, senior vice president, Consumer Services. “Staying in touch with loved ones in the wake of tragic events such as this is important, so GCI would like to offer customers the opportunity to check in with friends and family in the area who may be affected, without concern for cost.”

GCI customers can make voice calls and texts to Mexico free of charge through Sept. 25.

Free service is for valid calls made from landlines as well as wireless devices. Customers are not required to take any action on their account before calling or texting family in Mexico.
