Over the past 20 years, GCI has donated more than $6 million in scholarships to young, promising Alaska students through the GCI Scholarship Program.

We value Alaska youth and strive to invest in our state’s futureThe GCI Scholarship Program is a $100,000 investment each year to high school seniors across the state.

Applications for the 2021 scholarship will open in February 2021.

About the application
 
We strategically created our application criteria to reach students that may not qualify for other scholarships. We also include a focus on students who plan to pursue education to enter a career in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
 
Spring 2020 Qualifications:
  • Graduating senior of an Alaska high school
  • GPA of 2.8–3.5
  • Seeking degree or certification in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field
  • Planning to return to Alaska to begin their career
Preferences:
  • Applicants who live in a GCI service area
  • First-generation college student
  • Extracurriculars in STEM-based activities, including esport activities through Alaska School Activities Association
Criteria:
  • Personal essay
  • Resume
  • High school transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
