Life track: Military aspirations that began as a child led him to 13 years of service and the rank of Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army, with five deployments to Iraq and Kuwait, where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Mission accomplished: He’s fulfilled two other childhood dreams: live in Alaska and own a fishing and tackle shop. In 2011, on his last day in the Army and days after becoming a father, he opened The Bait Shack on Ship Creek in Anchorage.
On service: “I always knew I wanted to join the military and enjoyed serving alongside soldiers who also took pride in serving our country.” His patriotic mentality is shared by his high school sweetheart-turned-wife Amy, who is still actively serving in the Alaska Army National Guard.
Whether you were born and raised in Alaska or just have the Alaska born and raised spirit, we want to hear from you.
