Do I need a separate SSID for my 2.4GHz smart devices?

No. AK-Fi Home simplifies your network to a single SSID/network name that's shared among all devices (including 2.4GHz and 5GHz). There is no need for separate networks with AK-Fi! If you would like to set separate access restrictions, you may do so using Zones.

Change or create a new WiFi password

During the initial setup, the first password created is a Home zone password, although you can add more. The following instructions refer to the Home zone. (Read more about AK-Fi zones.)

  1. Log in to the AK-Fi app using your MyGCI credentials.
  2. Tap the icon with three horizontal lines on the app home screen.
  3. Tap "Adapt."
  4. Select the level of access for this password by chosen zone: Home, Guest, or Internet Only.
  5. On the Home settings page, tap "New Home Password."
  6. Enter your new password then tap "Add" to save.
