Do I need a separate SSID for my 2.4GHz smart devices?

No. AK-Fi Home simplifies your network to a single SSID/network name, which is shared among all devices (including 2.4GHz and 5GHz). There is no need for separate networks with AK-Fi! If you would like to set separate access restrictions, you may do so using Zones.

Change or Create a New WiFi Password

During the initial setup, the first password created is a Home zone password, although you can add more. The following instructions refer to the Home zone. Learn more about zones.

  1. Log in to the AK-Fi app using your MyGCI credentials.
  2. Tap the 23_02_AKFi_SupportArticle_icon_1.png icon on the app home screen.
  3. Tap Adapt.
  4. Select the level of access for this password by chosen zone: Home, Guest, or Internet Only.
  5. On the Home settings page, tap New Home Password.
  6. Enter your new password then tap on the Add to save.
