No Worries FAQ: Get Answers to Your High Speed Internet Plan Questions

Additional data buckets are available to purchase only after you have used 100% of the data in your No Worries plan. If you have received a message that you have used 100% of your included data, follow these steps.

  1. Log in to your My GCI Profile to buy an additional high speed data bucket.
  2. Once you are logged in, select "View Usage".
  3. Then, select the link “Purchase additional high speed data”.


If you do not have a My GCI Profile, you can sign up here. Or call GCI Customer Service at 800-800-4800 for assistance.

When you use your entire high speed data bucket, you can:

  1. Choose to buy another additional high-speed data bucket
  2. Upgrade to a No Worries plan with more included high-speed data
  3. Use the internet at reduced speeds for the remainder of your cycle

All data included in your plan and any high speed buckets purchased must be used during the current billing cycle.

The price is $10.00 for an additional bucket. The amount of data included varies with each plan. View information on specific internet plans.

Once you reach 80% and 100% of your included high speed data, you will receive e-mail notifications to the address associated with your internet account.

We recommend the following:

  • Perform speed tests with your computer directly connected to your modem. Bypass any routers (including Wi-Fi) by connecting your computer directly to the cable modem via an Ethernet cable.
  • Use the computer with the fastest or most advanced hardware and software in your household to perform speed tests.
  • Restart your computer and modem.

If you’re not getting the speeds you expect follow these steps:

  1. Connect your laptop or computer directly to the cable modem using the Ethernet connection.
  2. Use the GCI speed test tool.
  3. If the speed test still shows that you are not getting close to the speeds you expect with your plan, call us at 800-800-4800 or send us an email to rcs@gci.com.


Due to limitations of Wi-Fi, speed test conducted with tablets, smartphone and other mobile devices may not reflect the actual speed on your connection.

Your plan speed is the maximum speed expected to be achievable for that plan. Several factors will affect the actual speed you experience. These factors include, but are not limited to:

  • limitations of Wi-Fi and other equipment you may be using
  • the capability of the device you’re using to access the Internet
  • the application and/or server/web site you are accessing
  • other active users and/or devices on your home network at the same time routers on the public Internet being over-loaded by high demand – particularly during peak hours of the day
