ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – GCI is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the Alaska Schools Activities Association (ASAA) March Madness Basketball State Championship. GCI will broadcast the girls and boys championship games for all divisions on GCI Channel 1 in all markets, as well as in HD on Channel 999 in select markets. Additionally, GCI will broadcast the ASAA First National Bank Alaska 2015 Cheerleading State Championships.
"ASAA is excited to partner with GCI to broadcast the eight March Madness Alaska basketball championship games across the state of Alaska," said ASAA Executive Director Billy Strickland. "These broadcasts allow our teams' fans to experience the excitement of March Madness Alaska even if they are unable to attend."
In celebration of the tournament, GCI will offer fans the chance to win prizes from Monster©, the world leader in high-performance personal audio, including Monster DNA Headphones, Superstar Speakers and iSport Strive Headphones. Attendees can visit the GCI store located in the Alaska Airlines Center throughout March Madness Alaska for details. The store will have extended hours during the tournament.
Games begin on Saturday, March 14, and continue through Saturday, March 21, in Anchorage. Games will be played at the new Alaska Airlines Center, where GCI is the official technology partner, as well as the Wells Fargo Sports Complex at the University of Alaska Anchorage and Sullivan Arena, all with free parking.
