AK-Fi allows you to run speed tests at both the network and device level. Here’s how:
Testing Network Speed in AK-Fi Home
For best speed test results, use the check speed feature in your AK-Fi Home app. Using this feature will trigger a speed test to be run directly from your network.
How to run a speed test
You can quickly run a speed test directly from the Homepage.
From the Homepage, tap the Check speed button.
Once the speed test is complete, the results will be displayed.
Use the Run speed test button to perform another speed test.
The most recent result will now be displayed on the Home page.
Tapping on the most recent results brings up the Speed test page, which contains the last 30 days of speed tests.
Speed Test Notes
Running a speed test may affect the performance of other connected devices.
Speed tests only test the connection at the gateway. Use the Device Speed Test feature to check the AK-Fi Home WiFi performance on the other pods in the network.
Checking Individual Device Speeds
Unlike the speed test feature, this speed test measures the device's connection through the network to the internet.
Go into the area of your home where you wish to check the AK-Fi Home performance.
Ensure your mobile device running the AK-Fi Home app is connected to your AK-Fi Home network.
To find your device, tap the “Network” button and click the device button on the right next to connectivity. The mobile device running the AK-Fi Home app will show an asterisk.
On the device details screen, tap on the option for “Device Speed Test”. The test will check both the upload and download speed.
The latest speed test result will always be displayed.
