Pre-installation checklist

To get started, you'll need:

  • An active email address
  • Wifi access information, including your network name and password
  • A computer, smartphone, or tablet to create your new Xumo account

Installation steps

  1. Connect the power cord

    Your Stream Box has three ports on the back. Plug one end of the power cord into the far right port and connect the other end to an electrical outlet using the power adapter. Only use the adapter that came with your Xumo Stream Box.

  2. Connect the HDMI cord

    Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the middle port on the back of your Xumo Stream Box. Connect the other end to an available HDMI port on your TV.

  3. Turn on your TV and select the HDMI input

    Use the Input or Source button on your TV remote to select the HDMI port where you connected the Stream Box.

Setup

  1. Select your language

    When prompted on the screen, choose your preferred language. English is at the top of the list.

  2. Connect to the internet

    Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your WiFi network name and password.

  3. Pair your remote control

    Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Xumo remot to the Xumo Stream Box.

  4. Create your Xumo account
    1. Use the on-screen information to create a new Xumo account.
      • Using a desktop or laptop: Open a browser and type in the URL shown on your TV screen.
      • Using a smartphone: Open your camera and scan the QR code shown on your TV screen.
    2. After accessing the link, enter the 6-digit code displayed on your TV screen to continue. You'll then be prompted to enter your email address and choose a password. Once your account is set up, your TV will show a confirmation that your Xumo account is linked to your Stream Box.
  5. Complete setup with Xumo Play

    The setup will finish with Xumo Play as your TV provider.

  6. Log in to your streaming options

    Log in to your favorite streaming apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. (Separate subscriptions are required for paid applications.)

  • What should I do if I forget my WiFi access or email account information?

    • If you've forgotten your WiFi access information, please call GCI at 800-800-4800.
    • If you've forgotten your email login information, follow these steps:
      • Email address: Go to your email provider's sign-in page, select Forgot email or Forgot username, then give your phone number or recovery email address to retrieve your account.
      • Password: Go to your email provider's sign-in page, select Forgot password, and follow the steps to reset it.
