How to Connect Your GCI Home Phone Service Without a Technician

1. Locate an active cable outlet and electrical outlet

Find an active cable outlet and a nearby electrical outlet where you want to place your phone base station.

2. Connect your home cable outlet

Use the supplied coax cable to connect your home cable outlet to the back of the Arris phone box for your GCI landline service. If you're also using this cable outlet for your cable TV or internet, connect the splitter as shown.

3. Plug in the power cord

Connect the power cord to the Arris phone box and plug it into a nearby electrical outlet. Note: The digital local phone and base station are not included - you’ll need to use your own. The portable handset will need to charge before it can be used.

4. Connect your phone

Using the supplied gray “satin” phone cord, connect your home phone base station to Port 1 on the Arris phone box for your self-installed phone service.

5. Allow time for setup

It may take up to 15 minutes for the Arris phone box to fully register with the GCI digital phone network. If you don’t see 4 solid lights after 15 minutes, please call GCI Technical Support at tel: 1-800-800-4800 for assistance.
