AK-Fi Home Powered by Plume® Quick Setup Guide for Sagemcom and Hitron WiFi Modems

Self-Installation Instructions

 

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • WiFi modem

    Old Cable Modem 22_07_AKFi_supportarticle_gateways_Hitron
          Sagemcom         or        Hitron
  • Power cord

           Sagemcom power cord      or           Hitron power cord

  • Coaxial cable cord

  • Ethernet cable (optional for connecting devices)

  • WiFi enabled device (phone/tablet)
  • MyGCI credentials

 

 

1. Use the coaxial cable cord to connect the WiFi modem to an active cable outlet on the wall in your home.

2. Connect the modem to the power cord provided and then plug into an electrical outlet.

3. Give us a call at 800-800-4800, or send a chat on gci.com so we can activate your service. After we activate the modem, it will take just a few minutes for it to reboot.

  • Your modem’s status indicator lights may turn on and off a few times. The modem will be online in just a few minutes the 22_07_AKFi_supportarticle_EPON_globe symbol for Sagemcom or the @ symbol for Hitron (located on the front of the modem) stops flashing and remains lit. Note: For Sagemcom, not all lights will turn on, and an amber light is okay!

4. Download the AK-Fi Home app and install it on your mobile device.

5. Use your MyGCI credentials to log in.

 

You made it! Over the next 24-hours, your WiFi network will assess your connections and make adjustments to maximize your in-home WiFi coverage and internet performance. It will automatically make these adjustments over time, to always deliver the best service to your connected devices.
