While GCI works to deliver the best service possible, outages can happen. When they do, we act fast to restore service and keep you informed. Regional outage notices will be posted here and removed once service is restored.

Once GCI is aware of an outage, we work as quickly as possible to resolve it. The nature of the outage sometimes causes unforeseen delays, and Alaska's unique climate or geography may pose other challenges. But our technical teams do everything they can to restore service as soon as possible. We'll update this page as progress is made and when service is fully restored.

  • Check your location settings at the top of the page to make sure you're seeing notices for your area.
  • Check that all cables are securely connected and confirm status lights on your modem are on and working properly.
  • Power cycle your equipment. Follow our step-by-step instructions for power cycling your modem.
  • This page lists known, community-wide service outages that our technical teams are aware of and working to resolve. If you're having a problem you don't see listed, please contact us.
  • Visit our Support page, call us (for tech support, dial option 2, then 5), chat with us, or find a nearby store.

We're updating network equipment across parts of Anchorage, the Mat-Su, and Fairbanks. In some areas, planned service interruptions may be necessary while work is completed.


If your service could be impacted, we'll share details ahead of time through email, door hangers, or other notifications, so verify all your contact information is up to date in your MyGCI account.
