Profiles
Profiles are used to manage devices that will use the same settings or features on the network. They allow settings, like Internet access level and security policies, to be set for the Profile instead of at the individual device level. Some AK-Fi Home features, like Timeouts and Focuses, can only be applied to a Profile.
There are two types of Profiles:
- People Profiles: Creating profiles for the people using your network allows you to monitor and manage how and when they use the WiFi network. Any rules you set for the person will be applied to all of their assigned devices.
- Group Profiles: You can create a group profile to organize shared devices in the home and efficiently apply settings to all devices assigned to the profile.

How do I schedule or create a Focus?
Focus lets you pause internet access for people, device groups or individual devices. Focus can also pause internet access for specific applications, application categories, or websites to manage when specific content can be consumed.
Before creating a Focus, you’ll need to create Profiles for People or Groups. A Focus can be assigned to individual devices assigned to a Person or Group, but it cannot be applied to unassigned devices.
- Select Create a Focus from the home dashboard (if there are non active) or tap the + button in the Create a Focus section for a selected Profile.
- Start by naming your Focus and select the devices or Profiles that will be included, then tap the Next button.
- On the following screen, select what will be blocked during this Focus. All will disable internet access entirely, while custom options allow specific app categories (like Social networking) or individual applications (like Facebook) to be paused.
- If proceeding with a custom Focus, select the desired categories or individual apps, then press Next to proceed.
- You must now schedule your Focus to be one-time, recurring, or indefinite. Select a start and end date for one-time or recurring Focuses. An indefinite Focus will remain active until you deactivate it.
- Select the applicable days of the week for a one-time or recurring Focus. Once completed, tap Create and the Focus will be activated based on these settings.
