GCI Lawful Compliance

GCI provides assistance to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, courts, attorneys, and customers pursuant to accepted legal processes, while continuing to protect the privacy of our customers as required by law and applicable privacy policies.  GCI also complies with civil and criminal process, and adheres to all applicable state and federal laws.

GCI's goal is to provide accurate and timely responses to all law enforcement, legal, and customer requests.  The following information is provided to help ensure such requests are directed to the correct individuals. Failure to utilize these designated GCI contacts for requests, and/or failure to use required GCI forms, may delay the timing of any response.

 

CALEA Requests

For all routine requests from law enforcement agencies (LEAs) pursuant to the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, 47 USC 1001-1010 (CALEA), please submit your request in writing by mail, fax, or e-mail:

Exigent Circumstances Requests 

In order to provide timely and responsive service in the event of an exigent circumstance, LEAs and PSAPs must provide a GCI Exigent Circumstances Form, or their legal equivalent to the TAC. Failure to use GCI format may cause a delay in response.

All emergency or exigent circumstances forms must be submitted by fax or e-mail to the GCI Technical Assistance Center (TAC):

If you are a GCI customer requesting information pertaining to your account, a request for Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) pursuant to §222 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, you must contact either GCI Customer Service or the GCI Records Custodian, depending on the type of information being requested.
