INTERNET NETWORK UPGRADES

Building a Better Internet Experience for Today and What Comes Next

GCI is investing in Alaska's internet network to improve performance as people live, work, learn, and connect in new ways. As part of this effort, we're upgrading key network equipment across parts of Anchorage, the Mat-Su, and Fairbanks.

This work helps to improve day-to-day performance and ensures the network is ready to support future needs across Alaska.

Crews in your neighborhood

You may see GCI crews or contractors working near network equipment in your area. Here's what to expect:

  • Crews wear GCI-branded safety gear and carry identification
  • Work is done outside, usually in easements or shared utility areas
  • Access to fenced areas or backyards is coordinated when needed
  • No work is done inside homes

If access to your property is required, our teams will communicate with you directly.
