Free calls and texts to Texas in response to Hurricane Harvey

August 28, 2017

ANCHORAGE, AK – In response to the devastating impact of Tropical Storm Harvey on coastal Texas communities, GCI will waive all fees associated with voice calls and texts to the state through September 15.

“In times of crisis we realize the importance of being able to talk with those at a distance,” said Paul Landes, senior vice president, Consumer Services.  “GCI has made this decision so our customers can check on the wellbeing of their family or loved ones in Texas without concern for charges.”

Free service is for valid calls made from landlines as well as wireless devices. Customers are not required to take any action on their account before calling or texting family and friends in Texas.

Customers with questions can contact GCI customer representatives at 907-265-5400 or 800-800-4800 and can visit www.gci.com or www.facebook.com/GCIAK/ for updates on this policy.
