FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Anchorage, Alaska – GCI is bringing faster wireless data speeds to customers in Fairbanks by upgrading its cell sites to 4G LTE speeds. Customers who already have LTE capable smartphones will automatically receive benefits of the upgraded network at no additional cost.
“GCI is constantly working to bring added value and advanced services to our customers across the state, and we’re proud to offer the fastest data speeds on Alaska’s largest wireless network,” said GCI Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Services Paul Landes. “To bring 4G LTE benefits to all of Fairbanks, we’ve built LTE into all our GCI data plans so existing and new customers benefit from increased download and wireless speeds right away.”
GCI customers who do not currently have an LTE-capable smartphone can take advantage of a special introductory pricing on the Samsung Galaxy S5. Device financing gives customers an option to upgrade to a new smartphone or tablet with no down payment and no interest for the term of the financing agreement. In addition, GCI has a contract buyout offer for anyone who is under contract with another wireless provider.
Since being founded in 1979, GCI has invested over $2 billion to bring the latest telecommunication technologies to Alaska, reflecting GCI’s ongoing commitment to the innovation Alaska needs to support industry, education, health care, job growth and livability for today and the future.
