Setting Up GCI Landline Voicemail

Note: Beginning March 27, 2014, GCI will use the same platform for Wireless Voicemail and Landline Voicemail. The access numbers are different but the menus are the same.

All voicemail messages saved on the old voicemail platform will be available through Monday, June 30, 2014. To save voicemail messages permanently, please contact CBW Productions, an independent third-party archival service, at cbwproductions.com. You may also call CBW Productions at 1-800-770-8046.

The first time you use your GCI Voice Mail follow the tutorial voice prompts, which will take you through the steps to set up your new mailbox.

Voicemail Self Care

GCI customers now have the option of managing their voicemail box and voicemail messages online.

1. Open a browser and navigate to http://voicemail.gci.com

2. Enter your 10 (ten) digit phone number (907xxxxxxx). Then enter the access code (PIN or password) for your voicemail. The web access code (PIN or password) and phone access code are the same. When one is updated, the other updates as well.

3. Then press Enter or the Log in button, displayed above.

4. After logging in you will see features for a basic voicemail box.  Available features will depend on the type of voicemail box you have on your account.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Dial the GCI Voice Mail System for the area where you live, noted above.
  2. Enter your mailbox number.
    1. If you have voicemail attached to your home phone, your mail box number will be your 10 digit home phone number.
    2. If you have a standalone voice mailbox, your 10 digit mailbox number was given to you at the time you signed up for GCI voicemail.
  3. Press the # (pound) key.
  4. Enter your temporary password (this is on the letter you received from GCI or if needed please contact GCI (1-800-800-4800) for this number).
  5. Follow the voice prompts to:
    1. Create your new personal password (PIN – between 4 to 15 digits.
    2. Record your name and personal greeting

Accessing Your Mailbox

If calling from your own phone:

  • Dial the GCI Voice Mail System for the area where you live noted above in red.
    Or use dialing short cuts:
    Dial *98 (instead of dialing one of the numbers above)
  • Listen for your recorded name.
  • Enter your password followed by the # key.

If calling from another phone:

  • Dial the GCI Voice Mail System for your area at the number noted above.
  • Enter your 10 digit mailbox number wait for the prompt
  • Enter  the # key then your password followed by the # key.

If calling to your own phone number:

  • Dial your own 10 digit home phone number.
  • When your greeting starts, Press the # key.
  • Enter your password follow by the # key.

To access your stand-alone mailbox:

  • Dial the GCI Voice Mail System for your area at the number noted above.
  • Enter your 10 digit mailbox number followed by the # key
  • Enter your password followed by the # key.

Alternative Method

  • Dial your Stand-alond phone number
  • As soon as the message starts press the # key
  • Enter your password followed by the # key

  • To listen to your messages, saved prior to March 27th, 2014, Press 5 (Available through Friday June 27, 2014)
  • For more information about your mailbox, Press 0
  • To recover messages, Press 9 (Available only when a message is deleted and you have not yet left your mailbox)
