How will I receive monthly data?

On a monthly basis, coinciding with your billing cycle, you will be mailed a compact disk containing your call data for the prior month. This data set will contain long distance call detail and other summary and financial transaction data.

What are some applications of Billing Advantage?

Billing Advantage offers business customers a multitude of ways to use call detail data, meeting a full range of internal and customer needs. Billing Advantage is perfect for companies allocating costs to internal departments, or for those who want to understand their long distance usage. In addition, Billing Advantage is perfect for businesses who pass on long distance charges to their customers, auch as law firms, consultants, engineering, and construction companies, to name a few.

The included Toll Free reports also help businesses track usage on incoming 800, 877, and 888 numbers to better understand where their customers are calling from.’

Does Billing Advantage replace our paper invoice?

No – Billing Advantage is in supplement to your monthy printed invoice. You will stil receive a printed invoice and remittance slip each month. Billing Advantage data will be mailed separately.

Is there a monthly fee for GCI Billing Advantage?

Presently, GCI Billing Advantage is being provided free of charge!

Does GCI offer other billing productivity tools?

Yes!

  • Account Codes – These codes allow companies to better track their long distance usage as well as assisting in tracking project-related costs. Account codes are available from 2 to 8 digits. A $4.00 per month, per account fee applies.
  • Custom Invoicing – GCI offers numerous monthly printed invoice options. Printed invoices can be sorted by account code, phone number and other criteria that make sense for your business.

Why can’t I successfully install the Billing Advantage utility software?

While there may be other unforeseen issues, chances are that you do not have sufficient user privileges to install the Billing Advantage utility onto the desired machine.

Why are my other Access databases opening in Billing Advantage?

Installing the Billing Advantage run-time application on a computer that is already running Microsoft Access™ associates .mdb files, .mda files, and the wizards with the Billing Advantage run-time executable.

After you have started Billing Advantage at least once, double-clicking a .mdb file results in the operating system attempting to open that file with Billing Advantage instead of Microsoft Access™.

Solution: After installing Billing Advantage, it will be necessary to open your Microsoft Access™ databases by first launching Access and issuing a File/Open command.

Why do I receive an “Out of Memory” error when I try to run Billing Advantage?

Certain users may experience an “Out of memory” error when trying to start Billing Advantage on a computer that has 1 gigabyte (GB) or more of random access memory (RAM).

This is a known Microsoft issue, and can be addressed by updating your version of the Microsoft Jet Database Engine. You can find more information about this issue here:
