Enhanced Call Waiting
With GCI Enhanced Call Waiting, your phone is never too busy for an important call.
Benefits and Features
GCI Enhanced Call Waiting ensures you'll never miss another call because your line is busy. While you're on the phone, a tone lets you know you have an
incoming call. Enhanced Call Waiting lets you put the first call on hold while you answer the second one and then alternate between the two if you wish.
Enhanced Call Waiting may be especially helpful if you have teenagers who talk on the phone a lot, or if you tend to have long conversations. With
Enhanced Call Waiting, you will always be able to get through to your home, and you know others will be able to reach you.
Cancel Call Waiting, which is part of the Enhanced Call Waiting feature, allows you to disable Call Waiting for a particular call so you will not be
interrupted, or so you can use your line for internet or fax transmissions. Callers will receive a busy signal if you have activated Cancel Call
Waiting.
How Enhanced Call Waiting Works
If you are using the phone and another call comes through, you will hear a tone. If you want to put the first call on hold while you see who the second
call is from, you quickly press and release the hang-up button. You'll be connected with the second caller and the first caller will be on hold. When you
want to go back to the first call, press the hang-up button again and the first caller will be back on the line. You can switch back and forth between
callers as much as you like.
If you want to end the first call and take the second incoming call, hang up or quickly press and release the hang-up button. The call will ring through
and the second caller will be on the line.
To use Cancel Call Waiting, simply press *70 before dialing a number. Call Waiting will be disabled for that call.
