GCI.net Live Wire Internet Access allows GCI subscribers to access e-mail and the World Wide Web.
Speed - LiveWire uses state-of-the-art dsl dynamic bandwidth allocation technology so the entire bandwidth is available for use in whichever direction it's needed.
No Need for Additional Phone Lines - Our LiveWire provides high speed access without tying up your GCI fax or phone line. This allows you to surf the web and receive faxes while data services are being accessed, all at the same time.
Always On - LiveWire is always on, with no dialing or busy signals, ever!
Networking - LiveWire can be used in conjunction with your existing network.
LiveWire is available in the following speeds:
- 256/256 Kbps*
- 384/384 Kbps*
- 640/640 Kbps*
- 768/768 Kbps*
- 960/960 Kbps*
- 1200/1200 Kbps*
- 1544/1544 Kbps*
* Total bandwidth can be used for upstream and/or downstream data traffic as your application requires.
GCI supplies you with a digital dsl modem which uses an Ethernet connection to your LAN or stand alone computer.
LiveWire Internet Access Includes:
- 1 GCI DSL modem.*
- 4 e-mail accounts, (username@gci.net or username@ak.net).
- 7 day a week, 24 hour a day phone, e-mail, and web based technical support.
- Web access to your e-mail.
*Modem is GCI owned and must be returned if service is discontinued.

Available in some parts of the Anchorage area only (usually other options are available in Central and West Wire Centers, even if cable plant is not available at your address). $299 Activation fee (waived with 1 year term.) Activation fee includes testing the line, connecting the line to the DSL equipment and configuring the DSL Port.
