How Does it Work?
GCI Business Email Guard secures and manages email systems, without the need for software or hardware. Using patent-pending pass-through technology (versus store-and-forward methods), email bound for a company's email server is processed in real-time through highly secure service architecture.
Within milliseconds, GCI's email security solution separates spam and viruses from legitimate messages. Legitimate email is instantly passed on to the destination mail server. Suspicious email can either be quarantined in a web-based, password-protected message center for administrator or end-user review, or tagged and delivered. The entire process is fully automated and virtual — valid emails are not stored or written to disk, nor are they physically accessed by any persons other than the recipient or authorized administrator.
Two product options are available to your business:
Self-Managed (The company administrator can):
- Access the administrative interface
- Set-up and change Email Guard user accounts within the service
- Have help-desk type access to individual account settings within the organization
- View reports of activity
(This option requires your company administrator to be trained by GCI at no additional charge.)
GCI-Managed (The company contact will provide a list of users to GCI and we will):
- Bulk-upload or automatically provision customer organization users
- Provide customers with user management (add or delete users)
