GCI INTRODUCES VIDEO MAIL
A new way to communicate face-to-face with friends and family,the service is free for GCI Broadband Customers
ANCHORAGE- In an ongoing effort to provide its customers with cutting edge technology and value-added service, GCI has launched Video Mail, an exclusive service that gives GCI Broadband customers a free and easy way to send personalized videos, greeting cards and customized photo narration to friends and loved ones. Now, anyone who knows how to use email can easily send and receive video messages as well.
Available to both GCI residential and business customers, Video Mail allows the sender to easily record his/her voice and image into a message that can be heard and viewed by the recipient. Windows Media Player and computer speakers are all that are needed to receive the message, while the sender must have a webcam and a microphone. For a limited time, GCI is offering free web cams to qualifying customers.
Video Mail offers the following:

Quick set up of the necessary audio and visual requirements for easy recording

High-quality video, which is recorded at a high bitrate (200 kbps) for excellent quality;

Greeting Card Video Mail, which allows senders to create more than 50 different video greeting cards;

Story Teller Video Mail, which lets senders to assemble pictures in a video slideshow for sharing with family and friends;

A full 45 seconds of recording time; and,

No bulky attachments. Video files are stored on a server and are available for viewing for up to 30 days.
Video Mail is offered exclusively by GCI, and is the only free service of its kind in Alaska. It is available for immediate use by all GCI Broadband customers who have a current GCI email address.
