Corporate Contribution Program
GCI's Corporate Contribution Program manages GCI's philanthropic investments to qualified, not-for-profit organizations in Alaska. GCI believes that as a corporate citizen, it is our responsibility to support worthwhile charities and organizations which contribute to the quality of life for all Alaskans. Below are guidelines which define areas of corporate interest and priority.
Criteria Standards
Awards are given for proposals which encourage individual growth and positive decision-making. Of special interest to GCI is opportunities afforded to Alaska's youth. Emphasis is given to programs where GCI employees have chosen to invest their time and energies.
How to Apply
Proposals should include a cover sheet and no more than two typewritten pages of narrative. Attachments should be limited to three pages. Only written proposals in the format below will be considered.
- A cover sheet to include a 50-word abstract of the proposal and appropriate contact information.
- Description of need and proposed project.
- Amount and type of contribution requested (specify exact dollar amount and whether the request is for cash or for in-kind services such as cellular, local, long-distance, cable television or Internet.)
- How the funds will be used.
- How the proposal aligns with GCI's criteria standards.
- Mission and history of program/organization.
- Names of GCI employees involved in the proposed project/program and to what extent.
- Whether GCI has awarded grants to your organization in the past.
Proposals can be submitted throughout the year, but will only be reviewed the first week of every month. Notification will be mailed within ten days following award determinations.
Who may Apply
Tax exempt, nonprofit organizations are eligible. Support is not generally given for: travel or travel-related expenses; to individuals; to religious or political organizations; to organizations based outside of Alaska; or, to organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, color, national origin, religion, creed, marital status, sexual preference, veteran status or disability. Awards are generally under $500. Alignment of proposal and criteria standards does not guarantee a grant award.
